Licuan-Baay is generally a mountainous town rich in gold and copper deposits with many of its residents engaged in bamboo byproducts, small-scale mining, agriculture, and fresh water fisheries.

From Abra’s provincial capital, Bangued, it takes around two to three hours drive to reach the town hall in Baquero, a sitio of Barangay Nalbuan.
